The course at Greendale Golf Club has suffered severe damage from flooding of the Selwyn river that runs beside our 18-hole course. Heavy rain drenched Canterbury on Sunday 30th May 2021 raising river levels to 1 in 100 year floods. Waste, silt and debris has inundated the entire course.
With course damage and lost income from green fee players, there is a significant financial impact for our club. It is with huge thanks to extremely generous volunteers, that we have had several days of working bees to begin cleaning up the extensive damage to the course.
However, even with this help the club needs to hire contractors with heavy machinery, fuel and equipment to scrape, lift and reinstate land, drainage, bunkers and native plantings. The club also lost many items around the course that need to be replaced including sponsors signage, bunker sand and gravel pathways.
You can aid our club's recovery by purchasing a green fee voucher for a round of golf at Greendale Golf Club. We appreciate your support!
Valid from 19 Jul 2021 until 31 Jul 2022
This voucher for a round of golf at Greendale Golf Club is valid through 31 July 2022 and can be redeemed when our course reopens after the flood clean-up.
